Information
Levi. Well, I guess when you have a name like "Living Like A Legend" it gives you a lot to work towards and Levi has certainly done that especially considering he did not have a single title either in front or behind his name prior to his 5th birthday! However, since then we just keep trying something new together each year and he never disappoints me. Even in his "retirement years" this is not a boy to be left at home on the coach. He is a very intelligent, happy, affectionate and fun loving dog who is an absolute joy to live with and to work with. He is my shadow and is VERY much a "mommy's boy" and he KNOWS he holds a very special place in my heart. He wants to go where I go and be involved in whatever I'm involved in.

Levi is my first breeder/owner BIS winner, as well as my first home-bred American Champion. But he has proven that he is much more then a pretty face with even more titles after his name then in front. Like his mom, he is also proving to be an excellent producer for me. But like his mom, it is not what Levi has done for me in the show ring etc., that makes him so very special. It is the joy that Levi brings to my life each and every day - his soft looks and "woo, woos" to tell me he wants to cuddle (try telling Levi that a 50 lb. dog is not a lap dog! ;), his intelligence shown in his dance moves and his drive to work in harness - these are the things that mean the most to me.  I think that each dog I've owned has taught me new and sometimes very important lessons. It was Levi who really made me realize just how important my dogs' companionship and welfare
as my pets is to me.

On the Trail
Levi is an excellent, hard driving worker in harness. Like his mom he loves to run and quickly starts screaming and banging on the harness whenever we stop. During the runs towards their Working Dog titles in 2003 it was Levi I counted on to give me the power I needed to go through the heavy snow we sometimes faced after we were hit with a major snow storm. Levi will run in any position, including lead.

In the Show Ring
I can honestly say that in this area Levi has truly been a labour of love. I knew from the beginning that the potential was there but never have I been SO patient on waiting for a dog to mature, both mentally and physically, to be ready for the show ring.  Levi did not enter the "real" show ring until he was four years old and then only a few shows. Not until he was five did I really start to show him but boy once we got in there he sure showed me he was ready to be there. In March 2003 Levi did not have has Canadian Championship and had only been shown at two shows in Canada. He began the year at the Cobequid Dog Club where on March 29th, 2003 he finished his Canadian Championship with a Group 1st win! Within two months he was not just a Canadian Champion but also a multi Group 1st and a Best in Show winner! In 2003 he was shown 28 times in Canada obtaining 21 Group placements including 8 Gr. 1st and one Best In Show win. My unofficial calculations has him as the #6 Siberian in Canada in 2003. He finished his American Championship with back to back Best of Winners in Sept. 2004.

Freestyle Dancing
Levi loves to do the free style dancing. As with all the activities I do with my dogs, I use the clicker to train Levi his "dance moves". Some of his more complicated moves include mirroring my movements (ie. I take *one* step backwards, he takes *one* step backwards; I take one step to the side, he takes one step to the side; I turn in a circle, he turns, etc.) and turning his head sharply like the dancers do when dancing the tango. Levi can do these moves at a distance as well as right in front or beside me. What is remarkable about Levi is the intensity for which he does this work. If he were human, I'm sure he would be described as a perfectionist. :-)

Agility and Obedience
On Nov. 19th, 2006 Levi finished all the requirements for his Levi 1 CPE (Canine Performance Event) Agility title and in Oct. 13th 2007 he finished his requirments for his CKC Agility Novice and Jumpers titles under judges Carol Cote and Carolyn Dockrill. We are now working towards his Rally Obedience titles. Levi finished his Rally Novice title in June 2008 and his Rally Advance title Aug. 31st, 2008.

Levi is breeder/owner/handled in agility and obedience.

Therapy Dog
On March 27th, 2008 at 10 years of age Levi passed the evaluation to become a St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog. It had been primarily his daughter Jive that I was taking into the seniors home but while Jive was having a litter of puppies in 2009 I was taking Levi in. It was during this time that Levi, who is now retired from agility and obedience, made it quite clear to me that he wanted a "new job" and visiting the seniors was it. So now, it is primarly Levi that I take in, although when it is cool enough I take both dogs and split the time.
