Canadian Siberian Husky Websites |
Included below is a list of Siberian Husky breeder websites where the breeders, from the info on their websites, appear to fit the following minium criteria. - They live in Canada - They register their Siberian Huskies with the Canadian Kennel Club - They are active in either Sled Dog racing or conformation dog shows - two accepted methods for Siberian breeders to prove the breeding quality of their dogs If I also find a link to a website on the Siberian Husky Club of Canada website I will include this link. Those that do not have this link may well be SHCC members but just have not requested a link. Ask if they are SHCC members. Please note that being included on this list is not a recommendation or referral on my part of any breeder included here. This list is just a starting point with a minium of criteria. You still need to DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Ask questions! -Ensure the breeder is registering their dogs with the Canadian Kennel Club. (Legally a dog can not be represent as purebred unless it will be registered with the Canadian Kennel Club.) Other questions to ask include: How long have they had the breed? Are they currently involed in dog activities - racing, conformation shows, obedience, agility, temperament testing etc. Are they members of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), the Siberian Husky Club of Canada (SHCC) and other dog related organizations? Ask about health clearances such as CERF (eyes) and OFA or OVC (hips) on the parents of the puppies. Ask if they give a written health guarantee on their puppies and what does it include. And will they be there for after sale support and willing to take back a dog they bred if needed. If you can not afford a registered dog but want a dog that looks like a Siberian, rather then buying from a pet shop or backyard breeder, PLEASE consider rescuing a dog.
