The objective of this page is to try to put together in one place information on the history of the breed available on the Internet. It is obviously going to be a long term project. ;) If you would like to contribute to this project either with a kennel article, picture(s) or video(s) from you personal collection, or info on any of the dogs, people, etc. included here then I would love to hear from you. If you are contributing a scanned photo, etc. you must be its owner (it must be in your possession). You will, off course, be given credit for ownership of anything you contribute.. Historical Photos, Video and Audio Clips Pre 1950 Photos I will start a photo page of pre-1950 dogs on this site when / if I get the material. In the meantime I've included these links. Alaska Digital Library Links to historical photos and rare video clips. Besides a link to the site where you can do your own searching, I've provided direct links to photos and video clips that I have found and thought would be of interest to Siberian fanciers. Alaska History Store Another site with historical pictures. Click here to go directly to the site. Post 1950 Photos Individual Dogs (Under construction) Dogs listed in alphebetical order with link to picture(s) and info. At this point these pictures are from my personal collection of photos taken at Specialties, kennel visits, etc. back as far as 1980, but if others want to contribute to this section please contact me. Dogs must be deceased. Interview with Earl and Natalie Norris Oct. 3rd, 2000 Group Photos (under construction) Same as above but pictures include more than one dog or people are also included the picture. Black Oak Siberians Site Historical Pictures Collection Pictures from the 1960's and 1970's. The pictures were provided by Charlotte Reynolds (Arctic Kennels). Des-Mar Siberians Site "Dogs of the Past" Collection Mostly dogs behind the Des-Mar dogs but this includes photos of some top prominant stud dogs and brood bitches found behind many current show line dogs. Internet Articles on Breed History Links to internet articles on the history of the breed. A Brief History of the Siberian Husky in America (Siberian Husky Club of America) Where Did They Come From and What Did They Look Like? This is an absolutely fantastic 3 part article with photos by Bob Thomas. Bob probably has one of the best collections of Siberian Husky historical photos and information around. I look forward to each issue of the ISHC News just to read his historical aritcles. This one is on the Internet and available to all fanciers of the breed!
